Translation rates
In accordance with Austrian standard ÖNORM D 1200, a translator's fee is based on standard line rates. One standard line equals 55 characters, spaces included. The price of a translation corresponds to price per line times number of lines of source text or target text.
Globally, the more common standard is to calculate a translation fee on a per-source-word basis. I can provide a quote based on either of these rates, depending on your preference or background.
Across the industry, rates vary considerably, and so does the quality of translations completed by more or less qualified providers. When asking for a quote from me, please expect the following:
- In accordance with § 6 (1) Z 27 of Austrian VAT law, I am exempt from charging VAT/sales tax.
- My rates are based on the volume of the source text (no ex-post adjustments to quoted totals).
- Delivery will be in a file format of your choice.

you may want to use Moneybookers or PayPal to remit the fee.
